Cookie Policy
Version 1.0 · Last updated June 2026
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how Internetivo Ltd ("Internetivo", "we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on the IVO web application at internetivo.com and on the websites of federated nodes operated under licence from us ("the Platform").
It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and our Data Processing Agreement. This policy is provided in line with the EU ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC, as amended) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679.

2. What Cookies and Local Storage Are
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit. It allows the site to recognise your browser and to remember information between pages and visits.
Local storage (and session storage) are related browser technologies that let a website store small amounts of data in your browser, typically to keep you signed in or to remember your preferences within a session.
Throughout this policy, references to "cookies" include cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies used for the same purposes.
Cookies may be:
- First-party - set by the IVO Platform itself.
- Third-party - set by a service provider acting on our behalf (for example, an analytics provider).
- Session - deleted automatically when you close your browser.
- Persistent - retained for a defined period or until you delete them.
3. Categories of Cookies We Use
We group cookies into four categories. Consistent with our Privacy Policy, IVO uses no marketing or advertising cookies and does not share data with advertisers.
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Consent required |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Enable core functions such as signing in, keeping your session secure, load balancing, and protecting against cross-site request forgery. The Platform cannot function without these. | Session and authentication identifiers, security/CSRF tokens, load-balancing | No (exempt under the ePrivacy Directive) |
| Functional | Remember your choices and preferences to improve your experience, such as language, theme, and timezone. | Language, theme, timezone, interface preferences | Yes (opt-in) |
| Analytics | Help us understand how the Platform is used so we can improve it, on an aggregated, privacy-preserving basis. | Aggregate usage and performance measurement | Yes (opt-in) |
| Marketing | None. We do not use marketing, advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking cookies. | None | Not applicable |
Strictly necessary cookies are used on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a secure, working service and are exempt from the consent requirement because they are essential to deliver a service you have requested. Functional and analytics cookies are used only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Our analytics providers are PostHog (EU-hosted) and Google Analytics 4; both load only after you opt in. If you choose "Sign in with Facebook" on the login or registration page, Meta's login SDK loads to provide that feature.
4. Consent
When you first visit the Platform, you are shown a cookie banner. Non-essential cookies (functional and analytics) are not set unless you actively opt in.
- No pre-ticked boxes. All non-essential categories are off by default. You must take a clear, affirmative action to enable them.
- Granular choice. You may accept all, reject all non-essential cookies, or choose categories individually.
- Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the Platform cannot work without them; they are not subject to consent.
Your consent choices are themselves recorded so that we can demonstrate compliance and so that we do not ask you again unnecessarily.
5. Managing and Withdrawing Consent
You can change your mind at any time:
- Cookie banner / preference centre. Reopen the cookie preferences from the link in the Platform footer (or the banner) to change or withdraw your choices. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
- Browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and clear local storage through their settings or privacy menu. You can usually set your browser to warn you before a cookie is stored.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before withdrawal.
6. Consequences of Disabling Cookies
- Disabling strictly necessary cookies (for example, by blocking all cookies in your browser) will prevent the Platform from functioning. You may be unable to sign in, stay signed in, or complete secure actions.
- Disabling functional cookies means the Platform will not remember preferences such as language, theme, or timezone between visits.
- Disabling analytics cookies has no effect on functionality; we simply receive less aggregated information about how the Platform is used.
7. The Mobile App
The IVO mobile application does not use cookies. It uses your device's secure storage to hold authentication tokens and a small amount of preference data. You can clear this data by signing out or by removing the app from your device. App permissions (such as notifications or location) are managed through your device settings, as described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Third-Party Cookies and Processors
Where analytics cookies are enabled with your consent, data may be processed by a service provider acting on our behalf under a data processing agreement. The categories of recipients and the safeguards for any international transfers are described in our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement. We do not permit these providers to use the data for their own purposes.
9. Retention of Cookies
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
- Strictly necessary cookies persist only as long as needed to maintain your secure session.
- Functional and analytics cookies are retained for a limited period appropriate to their purpose and, in any event, no longer than is necessary; consent is refreshed periodically.
Personal data derived from cookies is retained in line with the retention periods set out in our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we add or remove a category of cookie. Material changes will be notified in line with our standard change process. The version and date at the top of this page indicate when it was last revised.
